Quick Tip...

I didn't expect to be posting this but as I've cleared 2 lots of glass up in 2 days and was chatting to a friend about it, I suddenly thought this morning it would be a good quick post and tip to share...

One way to minimalise: ;) break stuff!

Yesterday I hosted 'coffee morning', and a toddler dropped a glass coaster on the tiled floor. The coaster wasn't that precious and I had told R to put anything out of reach that he was bothered about but it did mean glass on the floor. (The friend who's kid it was, offered to buy a new coaster and was really embarrassed, bless her...)

So, I got the dustpan & brush out as you expect... And then, I read a tip AGES ago that I followed but as it's not a commonly heard tip people generally look at me like I've lost the plot when I mention it...

You take a slice of bread & press it down all over the floor area that you've dropped the glass... It collects any tiny pieces of glass that you can't see as easily. Then you put the bread in the bin. I use it to be sure most of the time that we drop a glass, because we thought we'd got all the glass yesterday and then found lots of bits glistening in the bread. And with babies or toddlers around, I think you can't be too careful!

Sooo that's my top tip for the day... I have just dropped a glass off the table & as well as sweeping it up, 1 piece of cheap bread has cleared up the remaining glass, (hopefully)! :)

A blissful start to an average day...

I think it was the Wednesday just gone but it may have been Thursday, I really can't remember. It's not important.

But R & I were commenting on HOW lovely the morning started! NO crying overnight...

F came running into our bedroom at 6:57, naked pushing her pushchair... I guess we need to look for summer pj's for her!

Then at 7am she went with R to make Z's bottle & get milk...

R came in a few minutes later.... WITH COFFEE! I think it has nothing to do with the time but he claims as he had time he was able to make coffee for us both... And because I had to sit up to drink it, I woke up at a nice pace...

Thennnn he went to get Z, assuming he'd have to wake her up to tears & she was awake, quietly playing at the bottom of the cot with toys!

We both commented on what a LOVELY start to the day it was! :)

Excuse Z's face... Exactly a month until F is 3 years old! She wore the teddy bear outfit on her 1st birthday...

From 4th...

I had planned to write multiple posts - quelle surprise! Buttt I am currently emptying my inbox (!) and found this link from Project 333 that I thought I'd share:

12/30

12/30. Describe a typical day in your current life.
It significantly varies depending on what we're doing but mostly attempt to wake up, get Z dressed, encourage F, get dressed myself, at some point F gets dressed & hopefully eats her breakfast... Go to whatever we're doing (playgroup, meeting friends).

Do whatever we're doing that day, feed Z, nap for both kids, either have enough energy to do stuff at home (ie tidying, cleaning etc) or sit down to attempt to revive myself ;)

Try to come up with something to do in the afternoon, depending on what we've done already. It varies as to whether F is tired or not...

What I am trying to do is then get tea ready for both girls, R gets home and we put them to bed/ tidy up then do whatever evening activity (I have Krav Maga, R runs and we watch tv). I could do with more preparation for the day ahead the night before, but it doesn't currently happen...
